rare grafted walnut salad set

700.00

Two woods in one! This hand turned bowl is truly one-of-a-kind. The line along the bottom is the graft line, where English walnut was grafted to Claro walnut roots. This is quite rare, and was salvaged from Northern California. This is the largest piece in a collaboration with California wood turner Silvia Song, who turned these bowls from a single slab and mailed the remaining scraps to me in New York. The servers are made from each side of the grafted slab, so one is English and one is claro to perfectly compliment this stunning two-wood bowl.

Bowl measures 9.5" across and 2" tall. Spoons measure 11.25" long.
